Seiko’s 140th Anniversary Limited Edition
This timepiece is named after the Japanese words for “night” (Yoru) and “cherry blossom” (Sakura) and the cultural custom of viewing cherry blossom by night – “Yozakura.” Japanese friends and family celebrate the arrival of Spring together by walking and sitting under the lit cherry blossom at nightfall.
The glitter and dark-pink colour gradient represents the scenic moment on a spring night when petals of cherry blossoms swirl in the wind against a starry sky. Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) is an ancient Japanese custom which began more than 1,200 years ago.
